About the campaign

Until now the Tulgey Woods project was owned and funded by husband and wife, Sid and Sam Remmer. The next stage requires more resources than they can bring to bear and so the project has been given over to a Community Interest Company (CIC) in the hope that grants and kind donations may allow the project to succeed.

Management Objectives
Management Objective 1. To enhance and maintain the wildlife value of the woodland and associated habitats.
Management Objective 2. To permit public access for the purpose of informal recreation whilst not degrading the nature conservation interest of the site.

We would like to:

  • continue to care for the wildlife.

  • build a wildlife pond and sustainable irrigation system.

  • provide a welfare facility for volunteers and visitors.

  • secure the site with a wildlife friendly fence.

  • provide paths, benches and controlled access.

  • create custom art instillations.

  • host seasonal events and guided tours.

As a Community Interest Company, we have an asset lock in place meaning that all assets or funds raised must go towards the project.

You can be safe in the knowledge that 100% of your donation will be wisely and properly spent and the benefit will match your intentions.

Over the last few years we have watched Sam and Sid transform Tulgey Woods into an urban wildlife oasis, a wonderful space that gives us much joy.We believe it is really important to support this project both for its environmental benefits and scientific significance.

I had no idea until I read this on the local community page that this existed. My daughter has recently bought a house in Byland Road, and we have already heard the jays, buzzards and Tawny Owl. I am a registered tax payer, so if this money can be gift aided, please contact me. I would also like to be added to your contact list.
